Thoughts for Grandchildren

17 Mar

We have heard the question from many people, “How can you leave your grandchildren?”  Sometimes we hear the question from inside our own heads.  Do they think we do not love you?  Will you think we do not love you?  Never doubt how special and how loved you are to us and how much we will ache for a hug or to see you running over with your hands outstretched to share a “Hold you.” moment.  Never doubt that we are holding you up before the Lord and all your future days of service to Him.  Never doubt that we want to be an influence in your lives.  Never doubt that we trust God for our influence in your lives being best with a testimony of sacrifice.  Never doubt that one of our biggest sacrifices is being apart from your day-to-day experiences.  But Mommies and Daddies are good for that.  And they are good for taking pictures.  And they are good for sharing hope with hearts to grandpa and grandma.  Also, when you meet your new cousin, Eden, and sister very soon, tell them grandpa and grandma love Jesus very much and that we love them very much too.

    Dad and Mom,

This post is so sweet, and no surprise that it brought tears to my eyes. We know you love them. We know that you will miss them. And of course we know that they will miss you. We will make sure as they grow, when you guys are in the field, that we will instill in them what you are truly doing. We will use your example and teach them about having a heart that is willing to sacrifice to follow God. Thanks for being such a good example, and thanking God that He has given us such great technology to keep in touch with ease.

    Love you both!
